Lara Deason is a lifelong resident of Liberty County and a proud product of the Liberty County School System. After graduating from Liberty County High School, she attended Tallahassee Community College, earning her Associate in Arts degree. She then continued her education at Florida State University, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
Lara began her career in education in 1990 as a teacher at Bristol Elementary School. Over the years, she has served in various roles, including classroom teacher, school literacy coach, district literacy coach, K-2 Dean, and Principal of W.R. Tolar K-8 School. She currently serves as the Director of Exceptional Student Education. In pursuit of her professional growth, Lara earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida.
Lara is married to Ronnie Deason. They have two adult children: their daughter, Alissa Taylor, and their son, Daniel, who resides in Liberty County with his wife, Kristen. Lara is a member of First Baptist Church of Bristol and treasures her time as “Mimi” to her three beloved grandchildren—Emma, Wendy, and Eli.
