Liberty County School District

Katy is a 1995 graduate of Liberty County High School. Upon graduating from high school, she attended Chipola College, where she received her Associate of Science degree in Business Administration. She began her finance career at the Leon County Sheriff's Office, where she served as a Fiscal Assistant, and then in 2001 became the Purchasing Director. In 2007, Katy was hired in the Finance Department at the Liberty County School District, where she served for 11 years as a Payroll Specialist. In 2018, she transferred to Franklin County School District as Accountant/Assistant Finance Director. In 2024, Katy returned to Liberty County School District as the Director of Finance. She is happy to be back “home” and excited to lead her team to further their understanding of financial knowledge in education.

Katy is married to Justin Gunn, and they have 2 children, Dylan and Katelyn. Katy enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids at their sports events, reading, and working with youth at church. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.
