Good morning!   Please see the successes for the 25-26 school year that Assistant Superintendent Jeff Sewell shared on social media last week :

Another celebration to post for our district looking back on the successes of the 2025-26 school year. Recently, our district has become quite the juggernaut when it comes to peformance in secondary science.

This past school year, the district achieved an astounding 90% proficiency on the Spring Biology End-of-Course Exam. This performance has Liberty County School District, specifically students at Liberty County High School, ranked as 2nd in the state out of Florida's 67 counties.

Additionally, we achieved tremendous results on the 8th Grade Science Assessment.  Between W.R. WR Tolar & Hosford Elementary and Jr. High School, the proficiency on this assessment was 73% for our students.  This result placed our district at 3rd in the state of Florida out of the 67 counties.

These results are a significant achievement by our students and something they should be extremely proud of.  It shows just how bright our students are, as well as their commitment to learning in the classroom.  Kudos and congratulations to them.

I also want to recognize the teachers in our district that provided instruction to these students in Science for the 2025-26 school year.  Elizabeth Pierce Meyers, Kammy Mann, and Hannah McCalvin, thank you for your hard work and being difference-makers in the lives of your students.  These results are also the fruit of your labor (and love).

Thank you to the teachers that instructed these students before coming to these teachers.  Thank you for developing a curiousity and love for learning in our students, specifically in Science.  Without that, these results would also not be possible.

As the 2026-27 school year approaches, we will continue to look for ways to continue our successes and improve where needed.  Congrats again to all, and looking forward to another great year of learning with our students.
